Working at MATCHES was both exciting and fast-moving, offering a range of dynamic challenges and rewarding projects. I first connected with Georgina during her time as General Manager of MATCHES’ luxury boutique stores. We collaborated closely on stock exit strategies, which led to the successful launch of a MATCHES outlet store in Hackney Wick—an up-and-coming area already known for the Burberry outlet. The store was an immediate success, prompting us to expand with a second unit dedicated solely to menswear.
Georgina was an exceptional partner. She had a keen eye for understanding customer behavior and product performance, ensuring that high-demand items were replenished quickly and sales targets were consistently met. Her ability to combine analytical thinking with a deep understanding of luxury retail was invaluable.
Together, we also led a series of large-scale pop-up clearance events focused on aged or excess inventory. These events became increasingly efficient and impactful—with each iteration, we improved logistics, reduced setup times to under 12 hours, and regularly met sales targets on day one. These four-day events attracted over 1,000 attendees and generated over £1 million in sales, with one event alone clearing more than 30,000 units.
Later, Georgina transitioned into the Customer Experience team as CX Operations Manager. Her leadership in training and development was transformative—especially as we adapted to remote working. She led the creation of engaging virtual product training sessions that significantly boosted team knowledge and confidence. Her collaborative approach made the sessions not only informative but genuinely enjoyable for the team.
